The straightforward option: one keyboard
Fartnership supports one to four local players on the same keyboard according to the provider. For local multiplayer, everyone needs to be at the same computer. Share the keyboard layouts before starting so nobody accidentally controls another player.
- Load the game using Play on the homepage.
- Choose the local Play option inside the game and select the available player setup.
- Assign each person a player slot and confirm their movement and propulsion keys.
- Test each player separately before attempting a coordinated push.
What the Play Online option means
The supplied game includes a separate Play Online menu and room networking. Our technical check on November 8, 2026 successfully opened a connection to its multiplayer service. That checks reachability, not whether two players can complete a match.
A full host-and-join session across two devices has not yet been verified here. Use the instructions and room options shown by the current game menu. The website does not run its own matchmaking service, and sharing our homepage link does not automatically place a friend in your room.
If the game says online rooms are unavailable, local Play is a separate option. An available website does not guarantee that the room service is available.
Choose the setup that fits your group
Before inviting everyone, have one person check that the game loads and the desired mode opens. If using the fourth keyboard slot, check for a physical numeric keypad.
| Your group | Start here |
|---|---|
| Playing alone | Use local Play to learn steering. |
| 2–4 people at one PC | Use the local player slots and separate keyboard layouts. |
| Friends in different places | Check Play Online inside the game; room availability can change. |
| Someone is using the Steam game | Use matching games. Fartnership and Fart Together are separate titles. |
Agree on a direction before a countdown
A synchronized push is useful only if the players are positioned to produce the intended movement. Agree on where to stand, let everyone get there, then count down. If the raft is already drifting, a smaller correction may be easier than another full-team burst.
Choose one person to call the next obstacle. Other players can still make suggestions, but having one immediate instruction reduces conflicting inputs. Take turns calling the route so everyone learns how the raft responds.
If the group cannot connect
Confirm that everyone opened the same browser game rather than mixing it with the Steam title. Follow any room information displayed in the game and check whether the host is still in the room.
If a connection fails repeatedly, reload once and try again. A failure can come from the room service or a network restriction; reinstalling unrelated software is not a useful first step. Use local play when possible and return to online rooms later.
A few more things to know
Can I share a link that automatically joins my room?+
The website share button copies the game page. It is not a room invitation. Use any room code or invitation feature supplied by the game itself.
Can Fartnership join a Steam Fart Together lobby?+
Do not expect compatibility. They are separate games, and this site does not provide cross-play between them.
