WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO?

Stand at the bottom of the raft to push upward.

Position guide only. Your speed and other players also affect movement in the game.

Start with one player and one small push

Open the player on our homepage and choose Play to load Fartnership. The game has its own menu after the website loading screen. Begin with a solo run or agree on the controls with the people sharing your keyboard.

Before trying to finish quickly, move your character around the raft without firing. Then stop in one position and use a brief burst. Watch the direction the raft moves. This small experiment is more useful than holding every button at once.

Stand opposite the direction you want to travel

A burst pushes the raft away from the character making it. To move toward the top of the screen, position your character on the lower side. To push right, move to the left side. Your movement keys reposition the character; they do not directly steer the raft like a car.

Separate a turn into two decisions: where the raft should go next, and where you need to stand to push it that way. Release the propulsion button while repositioning so your old position does not keep producing an unwanted push.

Think “move around the raft, then push.” If the raft drifts in the wrong direction, check your position before using a bigger burst.

Use short bursts while learning

A long burst commits the raft to a direction before you have much time to correct it. Start with short inputs near obstacles, then watch the result before firing again. Leave room to reposition before a narrow gap.

Keep an eye on the gas meter. Beans replenish gas, so treat them as useful supplies rather than a reason to make a risky detour. A stronger push is helpful only when the raft is already pointing toward a safe route.

Give the crew one instruction at a time

In local multiplayer, several people affect the same raft. Agree on a simple vocabulary before starting: “stop,” “move to the back,” and “push.” Everyone holding their propulsion key while discussing the next turn makes it harder to see what is happening.

  • Name the next opening or obstacle.
  • Stop firing and move into position.
  • Count down for one coordinated push.
  • Release, observe the result, and make a small correction.

Recover first, then chase the finish

If a teammate falls into the water, the provider describes a swim-back recovery mechanic. Give that player space and time to return instead of immediately accelerating away.

Treat each mistake as a specific question: was someone standing on the wrong side, was the burst too long, or did two players act at different times? Change one thing on the next attempt. That makes progress easier to repeat.

A few more things to know

Can I learn Fartnership without friends?+

Yes. The browser game offers solo play. It is a useful way to understand how character position affects the raft before coordinating with other players.

Why does the raft move the opposite way?+

Propulsion pushes the raft away from the character. Move to the opposite side of your intended direction before firing.
