The four local keyboard layouts
These mappings are listed by the game provider for the supplied browser game. If an updated build shows different bindings in its own menu, follow that menu.

Movement changes your position on the raft
The left and right movement keys move your character around the rim. Your propulsion key pushes the raft away from that position. Holding right does not simply turn the entire raft right.
For a first practice run, move without propelling, stop, and tap your propulsion key once. Repeat from another side of the raft. Learning the relationship between position and force makes every keyboard layout easier to use.
When keys scroll the page instead
Click inside the game before pressing a gameplay key. You can also use the Focus game button in our player toolbar. Keyboard input needs to reach the embedded game rather than the surrounding webpage.
If you click a guide link, the share button, or the browser address bar, click back into the game before continuing. Fullscreen gives the game more space, but it is still worth checking keyboard focus after switching tabs.
Make room for a shared keyboard
Player four uses a numeric keypad, which many compact keyboards and laptops do not have. The number row above the letters is not the same set of keys. Check your physical keyboard before promising a four-person session.
Some keyboards fail to register certain combinations of keys pressed together. If everyone can move separately but inputs disappear during a synchronized push, test the same combination outside a serious run. Try another keyboard or reduce the number of simultaneous players.
These are general keyboard setup checks, not a claim that the game supports rebinding every control.
Touchscreens and controllers
The supplied game includes touch and gamepad input code. Actual behavior can depend on the device, browser, orientation, and controller. Physical phone and controller testing has not yet been completed for this site.
On a touchscreen, use the controls shown inside the game. Do not assume that four people can play on one phone simply because four keyboard layouts exist. If buttons are cramped, try landscape orientation and the player fullscreen option.
A few more things to know
Does player two use the arrow keys?+
No. The provider lists J and L for player two movement and I for propulsion. The arrow-key layout is for player three.
Can player four use the top-row number keys?+
The documented layout uses the numeric keypad. Do not assume top-row 4, 6, and 8 are equivalent.
